Pretty Little Wardrobe
Tuesdays are not for tacos, they are for Pretty Little Liars– not only because of the continued drama with”Uber A” but because of their remarkable sense of fashion. Hanna, Aria, Spencer, and Emily all have their own unique personalities that coordinate with their sense of style. It’s been fun to see how as each season passes, their wardrobe has gone from an adolescent trendy wardrobe to a more “adult-like” chic style but still stays true to who they are. In honor of #PLL night and the big proposal, I have put together my own version of the college graduated, business professional liars wardrobe.
Back to Basics
This summer has been H-O-T! If I could walk around in a bikini every day, I would. But since that’s probably not appropriate on the streets of NYC, my favorite summer look has been all about simplicity. A cute white tee paired with dark frayed high waisted shorts is my go-to outfit. Keep it extra casual and sporty with a pair of Converse and a high pony! (Fashion Insider Secret: This top is now 40% off at Express!)
Spring is in the Air
Spring must have: white clutch. With all of the flowers blooming and birds chirping, that means weddings, cocktail parties, and spring break is in the air! While pulling out all of your spring clothes from the dusty attic begins, be sure to add some new accessories into this springs wardrobe. My number one accessory this season will be a little hand held clutch because who wants to tote around a bulky handbag while enjoying a cosmo on top of NYC’s crowded rooftop bar? A clutch perfectly fits all of my life essentials: my iPhone, my debit card, and most importantly, my Posie K lipstick.
My first clutch obsession is the white art deco cut out Sondra Roberts clutch which can be found at Kleinfeld Bridal. This would be perfectly paired with white high-waisted flare pants and a white floral lace top. My second clutch obsession is the white petal Deux Lux clutch (also found at Kleinfeld Bridal) because of its girly and feminine flare. This clutch would be best accessorized with a blush fit and flare lace dress by Lauren Conrad. Get the looks by clicking on the links and enjoy that spring has finally sprung!
“I wanted to let you know I’m getting married. To myself. I’m registered at Manolo Blahnik.” Much needed Carrie Bradshaw quote for this once in a lifetime picture of my newest beauties: a classic, yet chic, pair of gray suede Manolo Blahnik’s purchased from Saks Fifth Avenue with the best sale deal ever (originally $745, on sale for $275!)
It’s easy to say I’ve gone a little overboard with the amount of shoes I’ve bought and received as gifts lately (not that I’m counting, but for my birthday I may have increased my shoe game by up to nine new pairs of shoes). Oops! The Cadiralla from Aldo is part of the newest collection inspired by pop. This shoe features the trends of the season with a chunky heel, color block, and beautiful blue hues.
“Never let anyone dull your sparkle.” Necessary quote for the past few months. A lot has been going on so adding a little Kate Spade sparkle to my shoe rack ultimately brightens my day. Happy #ShoesdayTuesday!
Up, Up, and Away
One of my newest accessory obsessions is handbags. Not just your everyday color block clutch, but fun, out-of-the-ordinary handbags. And who does them better than Judith Leiber?! Her newest collection brings you my all time favorite handbag ever made by her, the hot air balloon! Made of luxurious Austrian crystals, this bag retails at nearly $5,000!
On Wednesday’s We DON’T Wear Black: February 10, 2016 #OOTD
Every Fashionista is allowed a comfy day as long as she does it in style. With snow flurries coming down this morning, I chose a cozy look for this frigid day. I paired my new white Converse with my VS Pink Nation leggings (because leggings actually are pants, judge me) and my oversized VS Pink crew neck sweater (obviously rocking the most perfect messy bun). This look is essential for a busy day running errands around the NYC streets preparing for Fashion Week and getting that last minute gift for your sweet Valentine. Comfy days are the best days. Get my similar look. #pinknation #taylorgangovereverything
50 Shades of Gray
Nude, you’re out! Gray, you’re in! Gray is the newest trending neutral color scheme that I have fallen totally in love with. What makes this color so “in” is that it can make your outfit transform into two different extremes: classy and chic or totally badass! Check out Nicole in her gray and black Vince Camuto coat paired with a chunky gray scarf to pull together her chic black #OOTD.
Who says you need to wear red on Valentine’s Day? This all gray look paired with a navy pair of heels is going to be my Valentine’s date night outfit. The gray long-sleeve crop top and gray printed pants can be found at Forever21. I paired this look with a navy pair of Jimmy Choo heels with a tulle bow on the side to bring out my chic girly girl side. Complete this look with a chunky silver and white necklace, and it’s perfect for a night out with the boyfriend!
Even play gray up on the nails for the rest of this winter season. Don’t be afraid to play with different shades of gray and funky designs on each nail. To bring in the badass effect, add some vintage silver midis and oversized rings for some hand candy!
On Wednesday’s We DON’T Wear Black: January 20, 2016 #OOTD
#OOTD: Denim, denim, denim! Apparently denim jackets have always been “in” but I’ve always majorly disliked them.. so to make a compromise with myself and the world of fashion, I chose to fall in love with a hooded denim jacket with sweater-like sleeves and hood (my mom says denim has never gone out of style however it has taken her 24 years to get me anywhere near a denim jacket). I paired it with a loose fitting white T-shirt, dark cuffed skinny jeans, a pair of gray converse, and of course, my “never leave home without” winter accessory, a chunky, fuzzy scarf. Get my look! Denim jacket from American Eagle, T-shirt from H&M, jeans from PacSun, sneakers from Converse, and scarf from American Eagle.
On Wednesday’s We DON’T Wear Black: January 13, 2016 #OOTD
In a world wear I’m forced to wear black every single day, Wednesday is the one day of the week we are allowed a burst of casualness and color. From now on, I will be posting every Wednesday my #OOTD (outfit of the day). So here is my very first #OOTD: Cardigan from Express. Sweater from American Eagle. Pants from American Eagle. Scarf from H&M. Shoes from Express. Get my look!
Take a Step into My World
“You sold your soul to the devil when you put on your first pair of Jimmy Choo’s” – One of my favorite lines from The Devil Wears Prada.
One of the best perks of working in the accessories department at Kleinfeld is getting to try on the most stunning and luxurious shoes in the industry. Our most popular seller is Jimmy Choo. In the first picture is the Viola crystal embellished heel with an ostrich feather tassel, perfect for a Gatsby themed party or a night out on New Years Eve. The second picture is from Jimmy’s ballerina bondage line in a stunning lavendar, the Floresse. This shoe is fun and unique to dress up with a t-length tutu heading to a show on Broadway. The last featured shoe is my all time favorite, the navy blue Lilyth, a suede heel with a bow made of tulle makes this the perfect holiday party shoe!
Every girl is in love with two things: bags and shoes. Since the day I put my foot in a Jimmy Choo, I was in awe. Being in the fashion industry, I enjoy having as much knowledge about brands that I love so I even went as far as reading “In My Shoes” by Tamara Mellon who is the person responsible for turning Jimmy Choo into a billion dollar brand and most wanted shoe. For any girl who loves shoes and a good read I would highly recommend this book. I would also recommend to start saving your pennies and treat yourself to a pair of Jimmy Choo’s because “Cinderella is proof that a new pair of shoes can change your life.”
Which Closet Would You Choose?
Playing dress up doesn’t stop at a certain age. At age 24, I still dream of red carpet gowns and stiletto heels. My fashion icons are Selena Gomez, Shay Mitchell, and Kim Kardashian because of their sexy, classy, and chic styles. From casual day-to-day outfits to red carpet glam, these girls know how to rock it!
What I love about Kim K is how she has made the Bodycon skirt (or dress) with a crop top paired with a long trench coat one of her signature styles. It’s such an elegant look especially since she sticks with the neutral coloring, sometimes venturing out in the blush and olive tones as well.
Shay on the other hand, who dresses the complete opposite of her character in Pretty Little Liars, keeps it girly in vibrant colors. With her olive skin tone and dark, long, luscious beach waves, she can wear the oranges and bright reds. And Shay is always, always playing up her lip color and rocking a cool pair of shades.
Selena, the Latina Goddess, has been showing it all. Whenever I see this girl on the red carpet, she’s wearing the most stunning gowns with either a plunging deep V or long, leg bearing slit or wide open back. When she keeps it casual, she will wear a pair jeans with heels and a chunky scarf or cute hat.
If I could go shopping for a day with my favorite fashion icon, I would have to go play with Shay. Not only does she have a playful, outgoing personality to be super fun to shop with, but she has a wardrobe I could only dream of having! Given the opportunity to spend a day with your fashion icon inspiration, who would you choose?
